Abstract

Digital personalization is an interdisciplinary research field that has emerged with its application to fields such as education, design, engineering and psychology and is called the "digital personalization revolution". It can be said that digital personalization in reading education has great potential. We can think of this digital customization potential not only in terms of teaching method (individual teaching) and material (children's books, toys) but also commercially. It is not easy to provide personalization in traditional printed resources, but digital technologies are more comfortable and have many alternatives. Interactive whiteboards, computers and mobile technologies in schools facilitate the integration of digital personalization into the classroom environment. Although some educators have negative opinions due to reasons such as reducing the role of teachers, causing distraction, personal data security, commercialization, there are research results that digital personalization increases motivation, imagination, and creativity. In this study, the concepts of personalization and digital personalization are explained. How can we use and apply digital personalization in the acquisition and development of reading skills? Answers to these questions were sought. There is a need for applied research on which reading skills contribute to the development of digital personalization and how it should be applied.
