Cosmetics is an industry that grows every day. Today, men use cosmetic products as much as women. In addition, there are products that fall into the cosmetic class in all households. Although make-up products and perfumes are usually mentioned when cosmetic products are mentioned, products such as shampoos, detergents, toothpaste are also classified as cosmetics. Chemicals used in cosmetics must be harmless to humans. In addition to this, environmental effects have started to attract attention with the intense use recently. It has been an environmental problem that the chemicals used and their packaging mix with nature and pollutes the soil, seas, underground and surface waters. In this study, some raw materials used in cosmetics, why they are used in cosmetics and their environmental effects were investigated.
