In this research, the characteristic work of the 19th-century German composer R. Schumann, "Abegg Variations", was analyzed in terms of formal, technical, and musical terms, the innovations brought by the composer were discussed, and interpretation and study suggestions were presented. The composer magnificently created this work by harmoniously combining the variation form, which is one of the frequently used and important forms of piano music, with the literature and music he inspired. The composer's lyrical, elegant and romantic style has deeply influenced the piano music of many composers. It is aimed to make a detailed analysis of the work in terms of the position of the piece in piano literature, the way of interpretation, and the solutions to the difficulties that may be encountered during interpretation, to be beneficial for many performers. Therefore, it is intended to enable the performer to see the places he is not aware of and to increase his performance consciously.
