After the proclamation of the Second Constitutional Monarchy, it is seen that there was a significant increase in the press life in the Ottoman Empire in terms of newspapers and journals. It is seen that in addition to the publications made on behalf of strengthening or defending the actions of the government, the opposition also took place in the press life in proportion to its strength. Besides, it is known that in accordance with the spirit of the era, intellectual affiliations also benefited from newspapers and journals as a gathering place. In this atmosphere of the Second Constitutional Monarchy, there were some publications that did not stand by the government, but preferred to stay in their own medium and aim to inculcate the opposition. Among the notable publications in this manner, Vazife newspaper draws attention as an important publication. It has taken a stand against both political conditions and social and cultural events, and at the same time, it has taken an approach that is cautious at the point of modernization, but gives importance to the western life form technically and culturally.
