THE STATUS OF EPIDEMIC DISEASES IN EDİRNE DURING THE PERIOD OF THE DEMOCRATIVE PARTY (1950-1960)

Abstract

Humanity has faced various epidemic diseases in the historical process. The States and their citizens have suffered deeply from the epidemic. The geography we live in from ancient times to this time has also been under the influence of epidemic diseases. In this article, epidemic diseases that were seen in Edirne during the Democrat Party and are threatening human life and the struggle against them are discussed. By examining the historical process of epidemics in our country's geography, the struggles against epidemics in Edirne, especially from the Ottoman Empire to the first years of the republic, were mentioned, and the policies followed to eliminate the epidemics in Edirne during the Democratic Party period and the effects of the epidemics throughout the province were examined. The aim of this article is to show the efforts and struggle against epidemics in Edirne during the Democratic Party period; it is to show the way in the present direction.
