This study investigates the factors that cause social exclusion of the elderly and their solutions. Today, with the decrease in the value given to the elderly, elderly individuals feel sad or lonely even within the family. It is possible to reconcile the answer to feeling lonely with social exclusion. Assuming that the first stage of social adaptation takes place within the family and then is reflected in the society; Elderly people who feel alone in the family face the risk of isolation.
The study showed that the most important problem caused by old age is health (44%). The secondary problem of the elderly (41%) is loneliness and social exclusion. The third degree (9%) problems of the elderly are economic problems.
Many older people seem to think of being ostracized because of loss of physical or mental capacity or the loss of friends and family members. Lack of daily care, poor health, and lack of communication with their relatives cause negative feelings of rejection and loneliness in the elderly.
Reducing the phenomenon of social exclusion of the elderly requires great effort and understanding from everyone, especially those who are directly related to this situation, such as the elderly themselves and their close circles
