EFFECT OF TECHNOLOGY ON REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT: A STUDY ON WORLD COUNTRIES

Abstract

Development is the most important part of socio-economic development. Countries play some roles on the world in the axis of the technological development levels, innovative activities, research and development studies. These roles differ from the development levels of countries. In the world of the present time, especially the regional based studies carried out suggest that the regional actors are important power increasing the development level of the region. This study aims to evaluate the countries giving direction to the world in terms of technological development specific to regional development and analyze the effect of technological activities on the development level of countries. In the study, the development concept and development theories were explained. The effect of regional development and technology on the development level of countries were discussed. After summarizing the literature on the subject, countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, China and the United States of America (USA) were examined.
