Abstract

It has become compulsory for existing agricultural areas to be used at the highest level of efficiency and productivity to supply with the ever-growing population's need for food. Within this scope, land consolidation (LC) studies that are included in agrarian reform practices come to the forefront. LC practices have become a widespread public policy and investment in recent years. With this research it has been tried to measure the performance of the land consolidation studies completed in Yollarbaşı, Burunoba, Akçaşehir, Ortaoba, Masara, Çoğlu, Salur, Kızık, Beydilli, Kisecik, Aşıran, Hamidiye, Sudurağı, Kılbasan, Davgandos and Dinek of Karaman central district. First the efficiency of land consolidation has been searched with the views of business owners’ opinions. According to this, the perceptions of business owners are negative about land consolidation practices reduce costs and increase their incomes. Also the intention to migrate elsewhere after land consolidation is reduced as compared to the pre-consolidation of land is still negative. However, it has been determined that business owners' opinions are positive on working prior to land consolidation and the opinions of business owners become more positive after land consolidation. It has been determined that they have a positive opinion after the land consolidation practices in terms of access to the land of business owners. In addition, after the land consolidation, the numbers and shapes of the newly formed parcels have been improved to a great extent. It has determined that there was a population increase only in Hamidiye, Masara, Ekinözü and Salur from the units where the studies were carried out after the land consolidation. In the other units where land consolidation completed, a significant population migrated to other places. Finally, the crop size and cultivated area quantities were searched by Farmer Registration System. According to the findings, it has seen that business owners are still continuing to produce traditional products. Also it has been seen that business owners continue to implement fallow applications despite the increase in irrigation areas. At the end of the study, the various proposals and constraints of the research were also included.
