The aim of this study was to determine the effect on the job satisfaction of private security guards of management and management behaviours, through evaluation of social and demographic variables. A total of 363 private security guards employed by different security companies in Bursa formed the study sample. The level of job satisfaction was measured using the JSS Work Satisfaction Scale. The data obtained were compared with social and demographic variables such as age, gender, educational level, marital status, occupational qualifications, place of birth, the place where most of the subject’s life had been spent, income level, economic status, number of days worked per week, number of hours worked per day, total duration of employment, and company where employed.
The results of the study showed that management and management practices had a significant effect on job satisfaction but other variables did not. Thus it was concluded that each new improvement made in management and management practices will have a positive effect on the job satisfaction of private security guards.
