Abstract

Kars is one of the first cities to come to mind when we talk about Minstrel Literature. Therefore, people who want to do research on this literature should give priority to this city and the region where the city is located. Indeed, if the minstrelsy map of Turkey is surveyed, Kars, Erzurum, Sivas and Erzincan must be painted with the darkest colour. Kars has raised many powerful minstrels from Dede Korkut to Çobanoğlu. The names such as Zihni, Şenlik, Ceyhuni, Bahri, Kahraman, İrfani, Müdami, Kasapoğlu, Hıfzı, Cemal Hoca, Nihani, Karahanlı are the first names that come to mind. Minstrels usually come through by taking lessons from a master. Nevertheless, wine is drunk to minstrels in their dreams which we can call a reward and minstrelsy is reinforced by divine support. Even if minstrels who are forbidden to see the man or the girl they love in the stories ache for not being able to see the lover, nothing can be done. Under this helplessness, a religious force emerges and helps the young lovers. A white-bearded and light-faced sage appears in the dreams of young people who cannot see each other and makes them drink a beverage they have never tasted before. That's the wine of love
