Abstract

This study aims to examine the phenomenon of stalking through two example cases. The reasons for why stalkers who are obsessed with celebrities and commit stalking acts resort to such act are analyzed in this study. Due to the exaggerated meaning attached to a non-existent relationship, stalkers create a network of relationship that is impossible and unrealistic. İt was found that need for being popular and social, creating a new world after unhappy times, love being the only reality of life, a belief in collecting all things imagined in a single person, a blind love as an act of loving without boundaries and seeing celebrities a part of their lives as their lives are witnesses on media, and acquiring a perception with such perspective.
