INVESTIGATION OF THE GRADUATE THESIS HELD ON CHILD DEVELOPMENT AREAS IN TURKEY

Abstract

The aim of this study is the studies conducted in the field of child development between 2010-2020 at the graduate level; classification and evaluation according to the university, institute, subjects, methods used, sample size, data collection and analysis methods. In line with this purpose, theses reached in the database of YOK National Thesis Center on child development were carried out based on document analysis, which is one of the qualitative data collection methods. It was accessed through the website of YOK National Thesis Database between February 27, 2020, and March 1, 2020. The database was searched with keywords such as “child development, child development, child growth” and theses obtained were examined. As a result, the university that makes the most postgraduate thesis related to child development is Atatürk University, the most postgraduate theses related to child development are made at the Institute of Educational Sciences and Health Sciences, the postgraduate theses on child development are made in 2019 at the most, in terms of subject. It is concluded that postgraduate theses are written about over education and child health and disease, the most scanning method is used in the distribution of research methods used in theses, and qualitative methods are used and the theses are managed by the academicians in the professor title.
