Abstract

Today, new concepts occur with developments in almost every field. Concepts taken from Western languages are often used to find equivalents. Particularly concepts containing metaphors are translated into Turkish in original forms regardless of whether the metaphor exists in Turkish culture or has the same meaning in Turkish. These enter our language primarily through translation, and become widespread and are embedded by creating the perception in society. These loanwords must be expressed in Turkish words and terms to make them be understood and learned by the general population.
In this study, Turkish equivalents were proposed to some terms frequently used in global economic markets that are ignored in Turkish or used in original forms. First, the origins of the loanwords were traced along with an explanation of phonetic and morphological changes in historical developments, if any. The meanings of these terms in the field of the economy were emphasized. Where there were Turkish equivalents, proposals by means of Turkish roots and suffixes were proposed based on the rules of Turkish, and words that were embedded in Turkish and formed perception among the public were used. With these equivalents, the linguistic invasion in Turkish was emphasized by raising awareness in deriving and spreading terms
