WITH THE IDENTITY OF EDUCATOR AND WRITER SULTAN MAJİT GENİZADE

Abstract

Sultan Majid Genizade, one of the famous names of Azerbaijani literature, is better known for his novels and theatrical works. Genizade, who has been at the forefront of his educator identity throughout his life, also carries the adjective "lexicographer" scientist because of his work in the field of dictionaries. In 1887, together with his friend Habib Bey Mahmudbeyov (1864-1928), he opened the first Russian-Azerbaijani school in Baku. The opening of this eagerly anticipated school is considered one of the important milestones of educational activities in the country. Genizade, who plays pencils in different types of literature and participates in literary and social activities, continued to work in partnership with notable figures of Azerbaijan. Between 1890 and 1900, together with Neriman Nerimanov (1870-1925) and Habibbey Mahmudbeyov, he actively participated in the activities of Azerbaijani Theatre ensembles. Genizade, who has written successful plays, has made intense efforts to instil a love of theater in young people, and he has personally acted in some plays. He worked as an education inspector at Gori Primary School, and later continued his work in Baku and Dagestan. Sultan Mecid Genizade, who has been involved in school and educational life for about 50 years, educates a large number of students. The writer, one of the victims of Stalin's massacre known as "red resentment", was arrested in 1937 on the grounds that he was anti-regime, and died in prison in 1943. The Notable Book of Sultan Majid Genizade, who served in the development and progress of Contemporary Azerbaijani literature, is a two-volume work entitled Letterat-ı Şeyda Bey Shirvani. The first volume is called Müellimler Pride (1898), and the second volume is called Gelinler Hamaili (1900). His work letterat-ı Şeyda Bey Shirvani is described as the first novel dilemma (dilogya) in Azerbaijani literature. Sultan Mecid Bey explained his idealistic ideas in the field of education through this work. Our article aims to introduce the works and educational activities of Sultan Medjid Genizade, one of the valuable literati of Azerbaijan, to the scientific world in the way he deserves in Turkey
