THE USABILITY OF CYANOTYPE AN ALTERNATIVE PHOTO PRINTING TECHNIQUES IN EXPERIMENTAL PRINTING

Abstract

In this study, experimental printmaking processes of cyanotype, one of the alternative photo printing techniques, were examined. Since the invention of photography, cyanotype has been used as a form of expression with different artists and techniques. The general definition of Cyanotype printing, its historical development and different formulas of the artists have been examined, and important details before, during and after printing are explained in detail. Afterwards, the contributions of different applications to the field by using experimental printmaking techniques that can be applied as an alternative to the cyanotype technique are mentioned. With this research, it is aimed to introduce and introduce cyanotype, which is one of the alternative printing techniques, to the original art of printmaking and to gain a new application area with a different perspective.
