Cities as a result of rapid population growth and intensive housing; is faced with environmental problems such as neglect, abandonment, and rent pressure. The reason for these problems that arise in cities is that human-nature interaction could not take place properly in planning and design actions. In this context, university campuses, which are important potential areas for creating alternative green spaces in cities, are areas that need to be carefully considered in urban design studies carried out with the aim of improving urban ecology and increasing the quality of urban life. Within the scope of the research, it is aimed to eliminate environmental problems, to improve urban ecology and to complete recreational needs in university campuses. The study area is located in Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Campus, on the shore of Akkaya Dam, a candidate for internationally important Wetland and Ramsar. An ecological landscape design project has been prepared for the study area and recommendations have been developed. With the ecological design approach adopted within the scope of the study, it is possible to prevent negative changes in the function of the landscape as a result of urbanization and measures and interventions on the landscape. This study can be a guide in predicting the possible consequences of potential human interventions with urban design and applications and eliminating negative effects
