Abstract

The informal economy, recycling sector and child labour, which are among the most important problems of our country and the world, constitute one of the most important obstacles to economic development and income Justice as well as social problems. Determination of employment in the recycling sector prevention of the situation and determination of possible solution proposals were determined as the goal of this study. There have not been many studies on child labour and informal employment in Turkey. The focus of this study is on the level and economic analysis of informal employment and child labour in the recycling sector in Turkey. The results of the study show that the reasons employees start work in recycling are in the form of earning money, unemployment, orientation. Diseases for work are usually physical pain, while hazards specific to their work are security conditions, inability to get paid, difficulty in health conditions. The main contribution of this study to the literature is the first study to conduct a survey of employees of the recycling sector, including expectations for the future and suggestions for solutions.
