In violin teaching, training the students in front of a mirror is a method used by most teachers in technical matters such as controlling posture, holding, left hand and right hand position. Today, with the advancement of technology, it has become very easy to carry videos and video recordings that can make a great contribution to the classroom environment, instrument training and almost every aspect of music education. Thus, the videos served as mirrors and made it possible for the student to receive feedback not only on technical matters but also on a musical basis. Microteaching is also a technique in which video is actively used. In this direction; It is thought that it is possible to use it in violin education, based on its characteristics such as micro-teaching oriented to individuality, appealing to both auditory and visual senses, providing feedback for analysis and change of behaviors at the end of the performance. In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of micro-teaching method-based practices in violin education on the performances of students who have just started playing the violin and to create a quality education environment suitable for today's education system by ensuring active participation of students in the performance evaluation process. The static group comparison design has used in the research. The study group of the research consists of violin students of Diyarbakır Fine Arts High School Music Department 9th Grade, Autumn Term, the academic year 2015-2016 (n=16).
In the study, the ‘Violin Lesson Performance Evaluation Form’ has been used as a data gathering tool. The data obtained in the study has been analyzed by using the program, SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 22.0. At the end of the study, it was observed that there was no significant difference between the post-test tempo and deciphering skill scores of the experimental group students and the control group students, but there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group in terms of posture and grip, right-hand / left-hand technique, musicality and total skill scores.
