Abstract

Veli Kayyum Han, the founder of the National Turkistan Union Committee and the great leader of the Turkistan struggle, is undoubtedly one of the most important figures of the Second World War. During the war, he provided great services for the Turkistanians to be freed from prison camps and organized them in legions. On the other hand, NTUC chief Veli Kayyum Han was accepted by the German government as the head of the exiled Turkistan government. However, with the loss of the Second World War, Veli Kayyum Han was tried at the Nuremberg International Military Trials Court with many war criminals. During these trials, Veli Kayyum Han was questioned on many issues from his relations with the German government to the activities of the NTUC. In our study, some evaluations will be made over the five files that we can reach regarding the Nürnberg inquiries of Veli Kayyum Han.
