Abstract

The philosophies of space in Western political thought hava a particular place and meaning. Philosophies of space are not among the most important topics of Western political thought. And but, while the subjects such as state, power, people, law, forms of political administration, political theology, human nature, gender, social classes are discussed, the subject of space comes up. It is usually indirect and complementary.
Apart from Western political thought, the subject of space is also found in natural sciences, social sciences and literature. There are also occasional intersections between these disciplines. One of the literati who cares about the subject of space is Virginia Woolf. Woolf has a opus directly related to a space. This opus is ‘A Room of One’s Own’.
In this review, the aim is to examine the philosophy of space in Western political thought and Woolf’s work ‘A Room of One’s Own’ together. As a method, the review was aimed to be both descriptive and critical. The qualitative approach, not the quantitative approach, has been adopted. Documentary research has been conducted. As a result of the review, it is expected that findings favorable to comparative studies for the relevant literature will emerge.
