Abstract

In many cultures, surgical removal of the distal part of the circumcision skin, which we refer to as circumcision for male children, is performed for various reasons. Although this procedure does not involve too much risk for surgical complications, it can lead to many disorders, especially in relation to the psychological age of the procedure. Sometimes it is done frequently enough to keep traditions and customs, sometimes done in order to fulfill the necessity of belief system, which is sometimes a member. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that one out of every three men worldwide is circumcised. Despite such widespread application, the sociological and psychological aspects of this process of circumcision, which has become a habit now without much questioning, need to be revealed through scientific researches.
