There are communities having different cultures in Ilgın district of Konya. These communities settled in specific regions of
Ilgın. Neighborhood fabrics are formed in these regions and the communities reflected their cultural traces first on space, from
space to dwelling and their neighborhoods in time. The culture – lied behind the logic of space formation – is analyzed in this
study via the living spaces of Crimean Tatars in Ilgın Konya. The phenomenon of living together in Crimean Tatar Turks, as
their family ties are very strong, revealed the formation of common spaces and neighboring houses those define the outdoor
space. In the dwellings which are shaped according to their lifestyles, the extended family lives on the ground floor and the
first floor; in daytime life takes place mainly on the ground floor, as for the first floor is used by the elders of the house and
single children in the evening. As result, it is determined that cultural phenomena specify the use of space in the unit space, the
spatial organization and the function of public / semi-public space in collective use.
