Abstract

This study is a qualitative research aiming to determine the opinions of practice teachers and students of the pedagogical formation training certificate program regarding the Clinical Counseling Model applied in the course of Teaching Practice course. The study group of the research is consisted of 10 practice teachers and 10 practice students chosen by the easily accessible sampling method. The study group, individuals who attended the Teaching Practice course and were engaged in the pedagogical formation training in Rize during the 2017-2018 academic year spring semester were selected. The data of the study were collected through a semi-structured interview form consisting of open ended questions. In the analysis of the data, content analysis technique, one of the qualitative research analysis techniques, was used. The findings of the study were discussed under the themes as pre-interview, observation and data collection, data analysis, final interview, reflection, problems, and solution recommendations included in the clinical counseling model. Some according to the research results, practice teachers and students have problems in the stage of pre- interview. Practice teachers think that they are good at other stages. On the other hand, some practice students think that data analysis and reflection stages are not efficient and that action plans have not been made.
