Abstract

Alienation, which is shown as one of the most important psychological problems of people of modern age, is the situation where the individual feels unfamiliar with the environment or time. This concept, which is frequently encountered in the texts of Oğuz Atay, one of the most important writers of Turkish Literature, comes to the fore especially in his texts, Beyaz Mantolu Adam, The Unutulan and the Korkuyu Beklerken.
In these three texts, it is seen that the protagonists are “alienating”. These individuals are influenced by their personalities, their lives and the behavior of other people in society; they do not feel they belong to the environment they live in and become insensitive to society. In these texts, autobiographical reflections from the life of Oğuz Atay are found. At the beginning of these autobiographical reflections are the reflections of the alienation of Oğuz Atay in the alienation of the protagonists in the texts of the Beyaz Mantolu Adam, Unutulan and Korkuyu Beklerken.
In this work, the concept of alienation and its indicators, the origins of the estrangement experienced by Oguz Atay and the autobiographical reflections of his works will be emphasized.
