Folk songs, which are one of the products of the need to express various emotional states, are remarkable products in terms of showing the perception of women and men of the society they emerge from. Although the folk songs serve fun and good-bye functions, they continue to convey social acceptances through the underlying communication function. The folk songs that constitute an important place in the lives of nations are important products in terms of reflecting the social and cultural structure and social values. In this respect, they are worth examining in order to illustrate the shaping of the gender mechanism.
Women, who have an important place in both production and transmission of the execution in the oral efficiency of Turkish folk literature, constitute a very special place in the preservation and survival of Culture and tradition. Women, who are the most vocal type of products in Malatya folk songs, are generally listeners in other folk songs. In the folk songs they are listening to, women are generally used as a beauty element and they are followed by being in love, unable to meet, suffering, unfaithful, deceiving. In this context, it is possible to say that women who are both the creator and the inspiration of the folk songs are displaying gender roles through the folk songs.
In this study, male and female perceptions of the texts through written sources of Turkish Malatya in the context of information obtained by scanning in the light of the concepts of male and female values of the local people will determine its place in the perception of the perception of women in the region to determine what is intended.
