Abstract

Kızılay Afyonkarahisar Maden Water, which is in the natural mineral waters, is one of the most famous waters of Turkey and the world. It is a natural resource rich in Na and HCO3. From the Ottoman to the present day, this source has been consumed daily by the people for various needs. Afyonkarahisar Mineral Water has been run by institutions that operate in public interest up to now. During this time, production was carried out under the supervision of state institutions. During the Ottoman period, it was used with the responsibility of "Hamidiye Himaye-i Etfal Hospital" for the treatment and needs of the people. Operated by the Hilal-i-Ahmer (Turkish Red Crescent) Society during the Republican period, it helped millions of people who need help at home and abroad with their mineral water revenues. As well as the economic income earned to the country, Kızılay Afyonkarahisar Maden Suyu has an important place on the Turkish Red Crescent serve as a kind of help movement in the world. In this study, it was attempted to present the development and importance of Afyonkarahisar Mineral Water from early to present. Thus, it was tried to give historical information that would be the basis for our country to be able to compete in the domestic and foreign markets as a commercial value of our mineral waters from the sources of wealth. At the same time with this study, it was aimed to bring awareness to the mineral waters between our national drinks. In the coming years, water for the Earth will probably be a great value. The prospect of mineral waters will increase one more. For this situation, preparations should be done by taking advantage of the historical experience of Kızılay Afyonkarahisar Mineral Water Company
