Abstract

The image of the teaching profession has a direct impact on the functioning of the education system and student achievement. A positive professional image can encourage teachers' dedication, build trust and respect among students, and increase public confidence in the education system. On the other hand, a negative professional image can demotivate teachers, negatively affect student-teacher relationships and make it difficult to implement educational policies. Education is the cornerstone of a society and teachers are important figures in this process, transmitting knowledge and values. Society's perception of the education system and teachers affects educational policies and practices. The professional image of teachers is part of this perception. Society sees teachers as the determinants of the quality of education and therefore the perceived quality of the teaching profession shapes the education system. In this study, a survey model was used to determine how the image of the teaching profession is perceived by parents. The "Teaching Profession Image Scale" was used to determine the views of parents of primary school students on the image of the teaching profession. In conclusion, perceptions and opinions about the teaching profession are complex and change based on various factors. These results can help shape educational policies and society's efforts to provide more support for teachers. In particular, it is important to develop strategies to make teachers more valued, liked and respected by society. In addition, efforts need to be made to maintain teachers' credibility and increase the prestige of the profession.
