This article examines the relationship between the concept of acousmatic, which holds a significant place in listening theories, and Pauline Oliveros' practice of Deep Listening, utilizing the approaches of Pierre Schaeffer and Iancu Dumitrescu. Schaeffer's theories on the sound object and listening modes are compared with Dumitrescu's acousmatic music enriched with phenomenology and mysticism, exploring the cognitive, perceptual, and experiential dimensions of listening. The study investigates how these two different approaches to acousmatics reflect on Oliveros' concept of Deep Listening, how these concepts influence each other, and discusses the potential impacts of these approaches on listening perception in future research. The study leverages the musical and theoretical approaches of Schaeffer and Dumitrescu to explore the connections between acousmatic and Deep Listening concepts. The aim of this study is to develop new insights that will contribute to the experiences of listeners and performers, and to foster innovative approaches in musical education and performance.
