Abstract

The use of technology in education has gained great momentum in recent years and smart boards have become an important part of this transformation. This article examines the opinions of classroom teachers on the use of smart boards. A qualitative method was used in this research. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 classroom teachers working in primary schools. The interview data were examined in detail using the content analysis method. This process aimed to determine common themes, trends and differences based on the teachers' responses. It was stated that smart boards make lessons more interactive and visually rich, and increase student attention and participation. However, teachers emphasized that they frequently experience technical problems, software updates negatively affect the course operation and these problems reduce the efficiency of the lessons. It was stated that continuous training should be provided to teachers and regular technical support should be provided in schools in order for smart boards to be used effectively. It was also stated that students should be guided in the balanced use of technology. In line with the teachers' opinions, it was concluded that more investment should be made in technical support and teacher training in order for the potential of smart boards in education to be fully utilized. In this way, the advantages offered by smart boards can be maximized and the quality of education can be increased.
