Abstract

Abû Hanîfa is a philosopher mujtahid who gifted humanity with liberal thought and a legal system based on this thought. In addition, by influencing both his supporters and opponents with his thoughts, he influenced the world of thought in different ways and continues to influence it. His liberal understanding of law is human-centered. Man is both the subject and the object of the law. For this reason, all work, especially law, is to protect and raise human dignity. Because raising human dignity means raising the glory of God. By building his understanding of law on the principles of reason, Abû Hanîfa tried to save people from the one-sided pressure of the traditional culture of the past and wanted to pave the way for people to produce thought and law. In addition, with the principles he put forward, he tried to save the law from locality and give it a universal understanding. Despite being a pious and devout person, Abu Hanifa made a distinction between faith and deeds, tried to prevent divisions based on religion in society, and gave people the right to make and practice law. However, according to him, the authority to implement should only be in the hands of the administrators. Otherwise, chaos and anarchy will prevail in society
