PERCEPTIONS OF TEACHERS RELATING TO THE EXTENT THEY HAVE EFFECTIVE TEACHER BEHAVIOR

This research focuses on teachers' perceptions of effective teaching behaviors. The aim of this study; is to determine effective teacher behaviors and the factors that affect these behaviors. Teachers' perceptions of effective teacher behaviors and whether these perceptions have a positive relationship between gender, seniority, and the institution they graduated from are being investigated. The scanning model was used in this study. The research covers 22 secondary schools operating in public schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the 2021-2022 academic year. A total of 116 different teachers, 54 women, and 62 men, were reached in the schools surveyed. The data obtained with the scale consisting of five-point Likert type items were analyzed by SPSS 20, percentage, and arithmetic mean. The research findings reveal which of the effective teacher behaviors are shown or not, and which ones are shown to what extent. According to the findings of the study, teachers' perceptions of effective teacher behaviors were found to be quite high. In addition, while there is no significant difference in terms of seniority and gender in teachers' views on effective teacher behaviors, there is a significant difference according to the institution they graduated from. According to the findings of the study, teachers should be understanding and patient with students, give meaningful assignments to students, follow research in the field of education, relate the presented course content with past and future learning, be fair and honest with students, adopt lifelong learning as a principle, make a difference in students' lives. It has been determined that they have very important qualities in creating.
