Abstract

It has been seen that hotels, which have the biggest role in tourism, are faced with crises due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The reconstruction of tourism demand is often overcome by national development aid and hotel management restructuring. The study aims to reveal the methods by which hotel managements try to solve the touristic demand problems that arise with the pandemic process and to investigate the effect on the demand. Research has been conducted to focus on the changes in hotel structures and to determine which elements the hotel managers focus on in order to ensure that the touristic demand has a sustainable structure. The study was shaped in line with the information obtained by interviewing the general manager and other managers of the Ramada by Wyndham hotel operating in Giresun. The reason for choosing this hotel is that it has never been closed since the beginning of the pandemic process and it is a chain business. As a result of the interviews, it is revealed that hotel management had to change their structures with the pandemic process, and they went through radical changes especially in terms of cleaning, hygiene, product and service delivery. However, as a result of the study, it is seen that hotel managements are in an effort to operate continuously by keeping qualified personnel as a result of decreasing demand and reducing costs
