A Training Method Recommendation in Terms of Ideal Principles: “ANALYTICAL THINKING AND SYSTEMATIC DESIGNING” IN BASIC ART AND DESIGN TRAINING IN GRAPHICAL ARTS

Abstract

Various programs are implemented in regard to “basic design” training in graphic arts field of universities. Although design training is an application method that is based on visual elements, a theoretical infrastructure that concerns the design science is definitely present at the heart of this application. From this aspect, design expresses definition of the methods of designing whose material is consisted of visual elements and methods of thinking whose material is consisted of information in a creative way in line with a function.
In this article, application methods of Basic Design and Design Training were outlined in summary and some recommendations were offered in the discipline of graphic arts. In terms of ideal principles, “a systematic training model recommendation” providing the creativity to develop in both directions both from theoretical view and practical view was emphasized and the intellectual points of this training called as “Methods of Analytical Thinking and Systematic Designing” were tried to be explained in all their basic aspects.
In recommendation of such a systematic training model based on implementation of design principles in an analytical way including the deductive and inductive methods; the place and importance of the idea in “shape” production and of the shape in “idea” production were questioned in all their aspects. As a result of information expressed at this point; it is understood together with its causes and results that the analytical and systematical approaches “containing art and design applications in adequate and equal amounts” may be more creative and successful in graphical arts’ training.
