In this study, Prof. Ahmet Atan's original painting works will be examined in terms of mystical aspects. Atan has become an academic and artist based on national dynamics in contemporary Turkish art, an intellectual and original thinker, attentive and nourished by local resources. Throughout his life, he took part in activities aimed at announcing the need for artists to be provided with social security, as well as the effort he gave to education and art. Ahmet Atan has been among the active members of contemporary Turkish art with his painting, artist and academic personality. His painting works initially debuted with the social realism movement and later developed his unique style with mystical pursuits. In his works, forms and figures reveal a national approach by skillfully using the universal plastic language of art in an original and individual expression. National and universal signs evoking birds, bees, insects and hearts in his paintings form a mystical exaltation from locality to universality. In this study, literature review and interviews with Ahmet Atan years ago will be used.
