ARTISTIC PERSONALITY AND LITERATURE ACTIVITIES OF MIR JALAL PASHAYEV

Abstract

Drawing attention with his satirical and humorous works in Azerbaijani literature, Mir Jalal Pashayev is known for his works in the areas of story, novel and history of literature. The family of Mir Jalal was born in South Azerbaijan in 1908. He later moved to Northern Azerbaijan and settled in Ganja. During the period between 1933 and 1978, Mir Jalal continued to work as a university lecturer for 45 years and has undertaken tasks in the "Azerbaijani literature" department. Mir Jalal dealt with social problems with a critical point of view beginning with his first works and he is recognized by the readers as a talented writer and scientist. He writes stories and novels that reflect fundamental changes in Azerbaijani society. In addition to scientific monographic studies, he published articles and newspaper columns. He produced works that are the output of serious research and are taught as textbooks in universities. Mir Jalal, who draws attention with his successful storytelling among his versatile talents, demonstrated an effort to develop and take strong roots in Azerbaijani literature. In his works, he created regenerative human images that are novelle to modernism. He described the civilized awakening of Azerbaijani women, who live by their labor and great efforts. He turned the women who, though being uneducated, improved themselves and got rid of ignorance, into the characters of his stories. In his works, Mir Jalal created an original prose style and the radical changes, foreign influences, social and political developments, traditions and customs that are seen in Azerbaijani Turkish since the beginning of the 20th century can be observed. He has written successful works in this field by not ignoring that art has different personal qualities. It is seen that the author gives priority to important representatives and problems in his scientific theoretical works. It is understood that Mir Jalal primarily deals with the theoretical problems of aesthetic creativity, issues of artistry, method and style in literature. Having made important studies in the field of literature and left indelible traces, we think that Mir Jalal Pashayev should be introduced and taught in all aspects of the Turkish world.
